Silk and gold. 15th–18^th century silk fabrics in the collection of liturgical vestments of the Church Heritage Museum: catalogue. Compiler and author of the text Rita Pauliukevičiūtė. Vilnius: Bažnytinio paveldo muziejus, 2014, 186 p.

The catalogue contains an illustrated story about the main stages of the history of silk weaving in Europe and this country. The first part of the book is devoted to the earliest 15th-16th century Italian brocades that have survived in Lithuania. The old liturgical vestments of Vilnius Cathedral were made from these brocades. The second part of the book focuses on French, above all, Lyon textiles that became predominant in Europe and superseded all the others in the 18th century. The third part discusses the silk weaving workshops that operated in the second half of the 18th century. A decoration of the noble’s costume – kontusz sashes – is an example of the production of these workshops.
